i show up to work today and have a gift certificate to my shop for $40.
first i thought it was a REALLY late birthday bonus.
then i realized that it was my 4 year anniversary at my current job.
$10 for every year i have come into work for 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
some people work their whole life at the same job for a little gold watch.
i guess that is pretty respectable.
but why is it when people ask me if i'm still working at the same place that
i feel stupid? that working in the same job for too long, and living in the same place
is somewhat lazy?
well anyways i think it is time for a change in more than one way. keeping
my eyes and ears open as always.
hmmm....how about just getting married, keeping the job and living right where you want, which is where you are now...
ReplyDeleteAND SINCE WHEN DOES MY SON GIVE A CRAP WHAT OTHER'S THINK AND SAY?
And when they ask "are you at the same place..?" Say "F#%^ yeah! I have the best job in the WORLD!" In Japan it is still very respectable for people to keep the same job from their teens until they retire at 60. It is only in the US that people change their jobs and homes like they do their cars. Silly.
